Mission

The mission of the ETM Department is to graduate students who are outstanding not only academically, but who will also be outstanding professionally. In particular, the department aims to prepare graduates that will be recognized by government bodies, educational and research institutions, and the private sector in Kuwait, the Gulf, and globally as having:

• First class knowledge of environmental technology management and who are able to deal with its multifaceted nature, and contemporary environmental issues.
• Distinguished ability for analyzing environmental issues and making appropriate decisions.
• High degree of enthusiasm for self- learning.
• Awareness of the available career. opportunities in their field of study.
• High degree of professional ethics and excellent communication skills.

The mission of the ETM Department is accomplished by providing graduates who have:

• An essential knowledge of ETM and a solid understanding of environmental sciences, environmental technologies and environmental management systems.
• An understanding of advanced technologies and an awareness of the global society that will allow them to meet changing needs of the industry.
• The essential knowledge of environmental standards, regulations, policies and legislation.
• The essential ingredients needed for understanding the social, economic and health aspects of environmental problems.
• The hands-on and practical experiences essential for environmental impact assessment, risk assessment and contingency measures.
• Ample opportunities to develop their ability to identify, implement, and integrate information technology applications in the environmental field.
• A well-balanced blend of teaching, research and service in ways that enrich the students learning experience.
• Strong ties with business, industry, educational institutions, and government agencies.
• The required knowledge and qualifications to pursue professional career development or graduate studies at sound educational institutions.
• Ample opportunities to contribute to the overall Kuwaiti national strategies aimed at protecting the environment and improving the quality of life.
