About CFW
A brief History
- 1966 The College for Women was established
but was confined to offering courses in science,
literature and education only.
- 1985 The number of students increased, and
it was decided that the College for Women should
be absorbed in the university. The students were
distributed among the other colleges and the
Dean resigned.
- 1996 A corporate committee was formed to
reinstate the College for Women.
- 2000 A committee was formed to decide upon
the academic program for the new College for
Women.
- 2001 The academic program was approved by
the University Council
- 2002 The Dean of the new College for Women
was appointed.
- 2003 The first class of students was
enrolled in courses at the College for Women.
